Purpose:

The OPG’s WattNext Energy Leader Scholarship recognizes five Ontario Grade 11 and Grade 12 students who demonstrate initiative, leadership, and a commitment to building a brighter clean energy future through education, skilled trades, innovation,and community impact.

As Ontario’s energy sector continues to grow and evolve, OPG is investing in the next generation of leaders who are passionate about solving challenges, embracing newtechnologies, and helping build a cleaner, more sustainable future. Whether students are pursuing careers in skilled trades, STEM, environmental sciences, business,technology, or other energy-related fields, this scholarship celebrates those who are already taking meaningful steps toward their future.

Scholarship recipients will be selected through a holistic review process that considers their experiences, aspirations, initiative, potential, and the perspectives that they bring to Ontario’s future workforce.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be currently enrolled in Grade 11 or Grade 12 at an Ontario secondary school.
• Be planning to pursue post-secondary education, apprenticeship, skilled trades training, or another career pathway connected to Ontario’s workforce.
• Complete all required application questions
• Submit their application by the published deadline.
• Consent to scholarship terms and conditions, including optional media consent if selected.

There is no minimum grade-average requirement. The scholarship is intended to recognize students based on their overall experiences, goals, initiative, potential, and commitment to their future pathway
