In 2011, the United Nations declared October 11th as International Day of the Girl, a day to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges they face across the world. This day focuses on promoting girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights.
Girls are breaking boundaries and barriers posed by stereotypes and exclusion, including those directed at minority groups. They are entrepreneurs, innovators and initiators of global movements. Girls are building a world that is relevant for them and future generations.
In celebration of International Day of the Girl, Build a Dream presents Dreamer Day!
For Build a Dream, Dreamer Day recognizes the women in the industry who work in underrepresented fields, such as skilled trades, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math), emergency response, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Dreamer Day will connect future leaders to the information and tools required to make informed career decisions and guide them to rewarding careers.
